Sanders ‘not aware’ of Trump plans to fire Mueller or Rosenstein.

The White House press secretary said she’s “not aware” of any actions by President Trump to fire Robert Mueller or deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein who is overseeing the special counsel’s investigation into Russian meddling in the election. “I’m not aware of any plans to make those movements,” Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Sunday on...

The FBI acting on a referral from Mueller raided the office, home and hotel room of Trump’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, last week looking for information about a $130,000 payment he made to porn star Stormy Daniels.

She alleges she had a sexual affair with the president after meeting him at a celebrity golf tournament in 2006. The payment was to enforce a “hush agreement” to keep her silent about the tryst.

Asked by ABC host George Stephanopoulos whether Trump was more worried about the investigation into Cohen than the Mueller probe, she hedged.

“Look, our concern is on doing what the president was elected to do, growing the economy, creating jobs, defeating ISIS, building and protecting our borders,” she responded.

But she also said the White House and the president would punch back when required.

“Certainly we’re going to respond to some of the charges brought against us and brought directly against the president,” Huckabee Sanders said. “He’s a fighter and he’s going to hit back when he’s hit. But that’s the focus and certainly the policy priorities that this administration is going to spend our time on.”

Trump in a tweet earlier Sunday responded again to the raid on Cohen, saying “Attorney Client privilege is now a thing of the past.”

“I have many (too many!) lawyers and they are probably wondering when their offices, and even homes, are going to be raided with everything, including their phones and computers, taken. All lawyers are deflated and concerned! ,” Trump wrote.

Cohen, who is under “criminal investigation” by the Justice Department, is expected to return to federal court in Manhattan on Monday.

His lawyers are trying to halt an examination of documents seized in the raid because they are protected by attorney-client privilege.
